Long Weekends

For such a long feeling weekend, time has flown.  I've watched several video casts, listened to a few podcasts, played hard with the boys, AND even got in a little knitting. I'm still working on the Honey Cowl and I'm seeing progress. The second hank had been wound and joined. Even a few inches have been added beyond the joining round. However, it feels as if the knitting will never end. Some day I'll be smart enough to remember to put in a stitch marker at the start of a knitting session so I can see my progress. It's grown enough to cover my face as I try it on. I will warn everyone that hasn't figured it out by now, getting old is rough! Since the yarn I'm using is Cascade Yarns Venezia in the Royal Purple colorway, it's difficult to see it at night. At least I'm gaining practice at knitting without looking often.

I think I'm heading to starting a new project very quickly! I hope when I cast on for the next project it won't lead to sartitus. It has in the past but I think when I start, socks are up. Perhaps I should gift socks this year to everyone for Christmas. The boys' will be easy because they are so small but DH is best described as Big Foot. He wears a size 13 Men's shoe and his only saving grace is that his feet are relatively narrow. I think my next pair(s) will be made out of leftovers and the only question is what colors and what combo?

The boys have been extremely helpful in the "Help Mommy Knit" time. In fact, DS2 came up to me after dinner and said "Sit by you Momma? Sit by you?" How can a Momma turn that down? We are tucked up in the recliner this Sunday night and I'm typing rather awkwardly around him. The cuddles are worth the typos and odd reach. Both boys insisted on going outside to play. Unfortunately, DS1 thinks outside and shopping mean that we are heading to the zoo to see the animals. DS1 was rather disappointed to realize it was the tennis court. I think he got over his disappointment quickly because DS2 was challenged to a race. They went so fast Mommy only saw the blur.  :)

I think bath time is calling every one's name here so we should go take care of that.
